AWS HLS limitations

Postby Ben » Mon Sep 28, 2015 5:30 am

We ran a test a month ago for a live event using AWS. It seems there is a cap of 1Gb/s using cloudfront. We maxed out on 2200 concurrent viewers from ONE stream only - any additional attempts to stream on this limit was met with an endless loop of initializing stream until the large stream were stopped. Performance was ok since that part is managed by AWS, but this is way lower than we have on a cluster of WOWZA corp accounts with several servers.

Additionally, I tested a live stream using your app (not mine) using Viewora to demonstrate what happened if the 3g drop to low bandwidth. The actual stream was fine, but VOD wasn't written (See the comic con video on your website)

Hi Ben! Did you manage to setup nginx, if you did, how?
